About

This is my submission for Go Godot Jam 2 with the theme "Energy Source". Made with the Godot Engine. It's my first Game Jam and I hope you enjoy playing.

This game is far from finished. It's quite short and still has more than a few bugs. If you'd like to see it developed further, please consider leaving a comment or feedback. Thanks so much for playing!

HAVE SOURCE CODE::??

I actually like the slidey-ness of this! It gives it a sense of active space even with the minimalistic vertical style. Absolutely love the graphics and art, the HUD, color design, and the SFX are fantastic! Only thing would be to add some music!

Really neet idea and pretty good implementation. But it could be quite unforgiving at times. I think for precision platformers like this one, using a rectangle collision shape instead of the capsule could help.

And yeah. the controls. I'm so used to playing with up as jump, this was unnecessarily hard.

Totally fair! It's a bit brutal as-is and needs a lot of work. That's a great point about the collider shape. I actually started with a rect, but I found I could cheese the collision detection for the ground by hanging over edges. The capsule was a quick, hacky fix, XD but it definitely made it much harder.

I'd like to make optional key bindings as well, just ran out of time. It's on the to-do list.

Thanks so much for playing and providing feedback! I really appreciate it.

good idea,weird control, it is like super mario with b button pressed all the time.

Haha... the only way I ever played Super Mario! Agreed, the movement definitely needs much more work. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!

like it , good concept but dont like the falling after wall clinging - its too direct ? ie in one direction and you cant change it

Thanks for the feedback! The wall interaction is still pretty rough and a bit buggy. By falling, do you mean the downward slide when clinging?

yes , thats the one

Gotcha! Thanks for clarifying. I might make the falling/sliding an intentional move to provide more options. Thanks again for the feedback.

I like how the charging platforms can overcharge and explode you. Really like the sound fx as well, very Defender. Which 8bit IC unit are you using for those!?

Thanks so much! Still tons I'd like to do with this. The sounds are (mostly) from this Sci-Fi SFX Pack.
